The Ponderosa Lodge sits just under the Steamboat Gondola high above the valley floor and takes its namesake from the grand Ponderosa Pine tree in the front yard. Built in the early eighties and extensively remodeled and expanded in the nineties, this home has rarely been available as a nightly rental.
On three levels with over 6,000 square feet, this beautiful log home has 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and sleeps 14 people comfortably. The main level features a large living area with a wood burning fireplace and incredible views of the entire valley. Off of the living area is the dining room that can accommodate 12 people. There's a large kitchen with granite counter tops and everything needed to cook a family feast. The master suite is on this level with a king bed and its own gas fireplace. The master bath features double sinks and shower heads along with a Jacuzzi tub. There is also a half bathroom and an office with a pull out queen bed on the main level.
The upper level has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with twin sized bunk beds and another twin bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with two sinks and granite counter tops.
The lower level features another large living area with its own gas fireplace, large TV, bar with refrigerator, and a closet full of games. There are three bedrooms on this level. The first bedroom has a king bed and its own gas fireplace. Off of this bedroom is a small windowless room with a crib and changing table. A bathroom with two sinks and a granite/tile shower connects this bedroom with the downstairs living area. There are two more bedrooms on the lower level. One offers large windows with excellent views and a queen bed, while the other features two twin beds. These bedrooms share a bathroom with 2 sinks and a shower/tub combination. There is also a kids loft on the lower level where the young ones can play.
Every window has majestic views and the extensive southern facing decks feature plenty of deck furniture. The perfect location for viewing the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo or Fireworks from Howelsen Hill.

On-Demand Shuttle Service
Shuttle service at this property is provided complimentary to guests of Pioneer Ridge. It is on-demand from 7:30am until 10:45pm for transportation to/from the ski area and throughout Steamboat Springs, grocery stores, downtown and the mountain included. Winter shuttle service begins when the ski area opens and continues through end of ski season.

Base Area (within a mile, no ski access): Although the Ponderosa Lodge sits beneath the Steamboat Gondola, there is no ski access. Guests will have access to an on-call shuttle.

Spectacular house. Lots of room for a large or extended family. Access to clean BBQ and jacuzzi. The free shuttle access is a game changer for getting to the slopes everyday. The view overlooking Steamboat Springs is spectacular! My family will happily stay here again!

Fantastic house with a view

We required a house that could accommodate two families plus grandparents while providing room for some separation and the layout of this house was perfect. With ample windows and two large decks the fantastic views were always present. The spacious main floor master suit was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. We used the kitchen to cook several large family meals and found it well stocked. After a full day of activities everyone really enjoyed coming back to this house to regroup and relax and I would readily recommend to anyone needed a large house in Steamboat.

This was a great place for our group of adults (7) and children (ages 4-14)! The views from the deck and Hot Tub are unsurpassed in Steamboat. We played games (10 person Farkle at the dining table was a hit!) and also relaxed on the deck while watching beautiful sunsets. We even got to experience some of the wildlife - a Momma bear and 2 cubs meandered through the area behind the house! We had a great time - Thank You!

Property was spectacular with stunning views of the entire valley from the back side of the property. All the rooms were spacious and had comfy beds with plenty of space for luggage. Couldn't have chosen a more perfect house for the long weekend. Plenty of parking spaces with one garage spot. Little far from town but you can use Go Alpine taxi service to get to and from.

Great home with spectacular views of the Steamboat valley.

The home worked out very well for our mini family reunion, The 6 bedrooms, large decks and living spaces made it very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the large, well stocked kitchen, (after we figured out the safety lock on the stove). It is close to gondola, bike trails and town yet very quiet. The grandchildren enjoyed exploring the decks and playroom and there was room for everyone to have their own bed. Would come here again. The only negative was the upstairs bedrooms were very warm, we did find fans to help, maybe a couple more fans would help.
